Huatulco Mexico is the ultimate paradise if you want consistent warm weather, beautiful beaches and the real Mexico experience. As I return year after year to Huatulco each time I find something new every time I visit. This time I spent three weeks, it was amazing. Here are a few things that I thought I would share with everyone about Huatulco:
The view coming into Huatulco from the airplane

Huatulco has 9 bays and 36 beaches. Huatulco is located on the Pacific coast of Mexico in the state of Oaxaca. It is the most southern tourist destination in Mexico. With over 330 sunshine days, Huatulco is the ultimate sun destination.
Over the years I have been on multiple tours. A few of my favourites are the following:
1. Crocodiles & Turtle Release)
I think this is probably my favourite tour. I have done it 3 times now. Ventanilla is about an hour drive away from Huatulco. Once you get there you get in small boat in a laguna and see crocodiles, the boat takes you to an island where you see more crocodiles, monkeys, and deer. After visiting the crocodiles in the laguna you take a short walk to the ocean where you release sea turtles. This occurs around sunset. Releasing the baby sea turtles was such a cool experience,I think that is why it is my favourite tour!
2. White-Water Rafting & ATV Tour
On this tour you ATV up the mountain and then raft down. The rapids are not strong at all. It is more like a nice float along the river. Depending on the level of rapids you choose depends on the intensity of the rapids.
3. Rent a private panga
Rent a boat (panga) for the day to go fishing, a bay tour, snorkelling or explore beaches that are only accessible by boat. This can be a fun thing to do if you like the ocean. I have seen dolphins, whales, sea turtles and sting rays while out on the ocean. My father has caught a marlin, mahi mahi and few other types of fish while out fishing.
Our friend Saul Martinez is a tour guide and speaks both English and Spanish. He will do group or private tours. He is very knowledgeable and makes you feel very comfortable. If you would like more information please contact me.
Where to Eat:
Huatulco has some really good restaurants a few of my favourites are:
1. Ricotta
2. Mercader
3. Cafe Juanita
4. La Crema
5. Mama Mia
6. Onix
7. Best Western has a good & affordable breakfast
Some of these restaurants will need a reservation to get into because they tend to fill up quickly.
Where to Stay:
There are a few options in Huatulco if you are on a budget then I would recommend checking out some Air BnB's. There are also some nice resorts. I have stayed at Dreams a few times and have had good experiences both stays. Dreams is an all-inclusive resort located in Tangolunda Bay. Another resort that has good reviews is Secrets this is also an all-inclusive resort but is adults only. As we were here for three weeks, we stayed in a condo.
Other Things to Know:
I only bring my bank (debit) card - you do not need to bring pesos or American dollars. You can go to the Scotia Bank or Banamex (the only two banks I have used) and use your debit card to withdraw pesos for a cheaper exchange rate.
A taxi from the resort area to La Crucecita should cost no more than 50 pesos each way.
Do not pack no sweaters - it is always hot even at night
Otherwise enjoy paradise
